A GPS saved my life!
So tomorrow is the big interview at J.Jill corporate offices. They are located south of Boston in the Quincy area. (Hence the reason I may be living in Dorchester - but that's another post). Anyways, moving on. So tomorrow is my interview and I wanted to take the drive out there - which is only about 20 mins away - to experience it and map out where I am going. Technically I've been keeping my Magellan GPS system in my trunk in the event it gets broken into. Well I forgot it in my trunk and already had my iPhone mapped out. Well the navigation on the iPhone is great - IF YOU'RE WALKING IN THE CITY! And even then it can't tell if I'm going north or south. Oh the joys of modern technology.
Well as most of you know, the route system on the iPhone is pretty handy. However, it's not handy when you're trying to read your phone and travel through a city you've never driven before. Especially having a Texas license plate. That's like telling Dick Cheney "shoot me, I have antlers". I purposely think people are more rude to me just when they see my license plate. It's the only time I'm actually embarrassed that I've come from Houston. But all in all there is no place like home. *tear*
OKay moving on - so needless to say this hand to eye coordination thing just isn't working. Especially driving at 70 mph down a road you've never driven. Well time goes by and I realize to myself "self....why are you on a different highway now and J.Jill is 4 miles back. Their headquarters are located in Battery March Park area. ------I'm now in MILTON!!!! (So for those from the Boston area reading this, it's funny now isn't it?) Needless to say, I managed to pull over and get my trusty Magellan GPS to guide me back to their headquarters (which is only 20 mins away from my house). LOL
Amazing buildings/campus. I'm excited about going tomorrow. My interview is at 2:00 with the head of the department and then again with the two art directors. Fingers crossed! I'm just ready to get my routine back, and stop depending on unemployment to get by. Which by the way, is STILL frozen. But at least they aren't accusing me of fraud anymore. PHEW! LOL
I'll be sure to make a post tomorrow and let you guys know how everything went. :) Gotta go - melatonin is kicking in. Yes, I haven't been sleeping well. I guess my body is still adjusting to the time change. But thank baby Jesus for the 70 degree weather here with NO humidity. Now that is some good timeeeesszzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.............
